Lone Star Regional Results

I am glad to announce that we placed 18th overall at the lone star regional. Thanks to team 1480 for picking us to be on their alliance. We were eliminated in the quarter finals but did fairly well.

Our team is looking forward to the FIRST championships in Atlanta!

FIRST Robotics Competition 2010 Season Underway!

Saturday, January 9, 2010, kicked off the annual FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) season.

View the animation of this year’s game “BREAKWAY.”

FRC BREAKAWAY Game Logo

BREAKAWAY is played between two alliances, one red and one blue, with each alliance made up of three FRC teams that compete in each match. The object of the BREAKAWAY game is to achieve a higher score than your opponent alliance by shooting balls into a goal, climbing the alliance tower, or lifting an alliance robot off the playing surface.

Balls used in the game are standard, size 5, soccer balls.

Each match is 2 minutes and 15 seconds in length. During first 15 seconds of each match, robots must operate in autonomous mode. Under autonomous mode, the robots may only react to sensor input and commands programmed into their onboard control system; no driver control is permitted.

After the first 15 seconds of each match when the autonomous period expires, the teleoperated period begins and drivers may remotely control the robots for the remainder of the match using their driver consoles.

A complete set of game rules is available from FIRST Robotics.
